This project consists of the renovation and expansion of Commonwealth Stadium. It is intended to improve the game day experience of the patrons and the participants and attract quality recruits.
Included in the project scope for the stadium is a new precast concrete façade, new club seating, a new club level at the level of the existing press box, a new press box on the south side upper deck, new suites, a new team meeting room, new locker rooms and a new team store. Existing toilet and concessions areas are to be renovated and improved.
The structural engineering consulting services for the project where implemented by two structural engineering firms. HNTB will complete the stadium renovations and additions related to façade, suites, club level, team room, locker rooms and press box. Brown + Kubican, PSC will complete the stadium renovations related to the new team store, graphic panels, loading dock, field lighting and all repairs of the existing structure.
Brown + Kubican, PSC, in partnership with HNTB, was selected to provide structural engineering consulting services to the HNTB/Ross Tarrant architectural design team for the expansion and renovation of Commonwealth Stadium at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. The Wildcats will host 8 games this season and will be primed to challenge for the SEC title! The Indoor Equestrian Event Arena for the Kentucky Horse Park is intended to be a world class indoor equestrian event arena, designed to attract world class equestrian events. It is also designed to serve as a multi-purpose arena for events such as concerts, trade shows and conventions.
A new $11.0 M state-of-the-art NCAA Competition Track and Field Complex. The complex has four single story masonry buildings, an upper and lower level grandstand, and several concrete retaining walls.
The project is a two-story facility housing the University of Louisville men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. The building is a steel framed structure with two full size practice gymnasiums, a full exercise facility, locker rooms, meeting rooms, training rooms, film study cinemas, coaches’ offices and player lounges.
