A new $48.0 M baseball facility including field, grandstands, concession buildings, club level suites, indoor practice facility, site retaining walls, and stadium ancillary structures. The project includes state of the art training facilities, food services, locker rooms, offices, safety netting and new scoreboard. The suite level structure is steel frame utilizing composite steel deck and beams with moment and braced frames. The balance of the buildings are concrete masonry load bearing walls with metal deck and steel joist framing. The foundation system is comprised of rock bearing drilled piers and rock bearing spread foundations.
A 2-story, 14,000 square foot Advanced Technology Center for Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s Pikeville Campus. The building will consist of a steel frame with a composite floor system, steel bracing, and driven pile foundations.
A 60,000 square foot, 3-story plus mechanical penthouse school building for the Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s Pikeville Campus. Located in a floodway, the first floor is an elevated concrete slab and beam system supported by a driven pile deep foundation system. The upper floor systems are composite steel framing with steel bracing utilized as the lateral system.
A new $13.0 M, 57,500 sq ft recreation center for Alice Lloyd College. Phase I will be 2-stories with a gymnasium on the second floor. Phase II is largely a gymnasium at grade with a suspended walking/run track. Project is constructed of masonry bearing walls and structural steel frame with special profile open-web joists over the recreation spaces. An architecturally detailed structural steel walking track is supported from the roof structure. Foundations consist of cantilever and buttressed foundation walls and drilled piers.
425 West Muhammad Ali Blvd, built in 1911 and named the Molee Building, is rich in history and firsts, one being the residence of the first Business Women’s Club in Louisville. The extensive renovation and reprogramming will preserve the history of the building, while focusing its reinvented purpose on environmentally friendly design and its ability to educate and culturally enrich the community. The programming for the building is being developed, with possibilities including the addition of a roof-top restaurant and open “think-tank” type office spaces where small businesses can collaborate. A 10,000 to 20,000 square-foot addition will project from the East side of the existing building into the park. The 5-story, 48,000 square-foot building is currently being cleared of unneeded partitions and the concrete frame is undergoing extensive structural repairs.
The existing Powell Student Union was built in 1971. Existing structure is a 3-story concrete frame consisting of concrete shear walls, beams, columns, and one way slabs. The estimate renovation cost is $16.0 M. Renovation of the structure includes removal of small slab areas to create an atrium space connecting all floors. Removal of a large section of the second floor for creating a 2-story space for an auditorium. Relocating shear walls or cutting holes to eaze way findings.
The Paristown Pointe Development in downtown Louisville, Kentucky includes the addition of a new Kentucky Center for the Arts (KCA) live music venue, new Goodwood Brewery building as well as the renovation and addition to the existing Louisville Stoneware building. The KCA event building will be a tall one-story, steel framed building with a mezzanine and partial basement, totaling approximately 28,000 square feet. The Goodwood Brewery building will house a brewing/production space and a taproom, totaling approximately 23,000 square feet. The production space will likely be a tall one-story steel framed building and the taphouse will likely be a shorter one-story steel frame building with a roof terrace. Renovations and the addition of a café at the existing Louisville Stoneware building will rejuvenate the building for an elevated customer experience.
